                 A convex mirror is also known as diverging mirror or the fish eye mirror. The reflective surface of the convex mirror bulges towards the light source. Convex mirrors reflect the light falling on them outwards. The image of the object formed by a convex mirror is always virtual. Also the image formed is smaller than the actual size of the object.

 

Uses of Convex Mirror

 

1. Convex mirrors are used inside buildings.

 

 

 

 

2.  They are used in sunglasses

 

 



 

 

3. Convex mirrors are used in vehicles.

 

  

 

 

4. Use of convex mirror in securities.

5.  Convex mirrors use also used as street light reflectors because they are able to spread light over a bigger area.

CONCAVE MIRROR

             CONCAVE MIRROR

 

             A concave mirror, or converging mirror, has a reflecting surface that bulges inward (away from the incident light). Concave mirrors reflect light inward to one focal point.They are used to focus light.

 

Uses of Concave Mirror

1.   One of the important applications of a concave mirror is in satellite dishes. These antennas are designed to first receive and then amplify (increase) the weaker signals that are sent in space via communication satellites.

 

 

 

 

2.  Another major application of concave mirrors is in headlights of the car. A powerful source of light in a smaller size is placed at the focus point of the concave mirror which is placed at the back of the headlight. Then any light from the focus that will strike the mirror will get reflected in parallel to the axis of the concave mirror. Thus the beam of headlight gets focused in this way.

 

                                   

 

 

 

3. One more application of concave mirrors is in telescopes used for astronomical studies.

 

 

 

 

 

 

4. Shaving mirrors are another example that makes use of concave mirrors because of their curved and reflective surface.

 

 

 



 



5. Dentist and ENT doctors also use concave mirrors in their examinations procedure to obtain a larger image than the original of teeth, ear or skin etc.

 

 

 

6.  Concave mirrors are also used in torches on the same principle as they are used in vehicles headlights.

 

 



 

 

 

My teaching week

    ശൂരനാട് സ്കൂളിൽ ടീച്ചിങ്  പ്രാക്ടീസ് തുടങ്ങിയിട്ട് 2 ആഴ്ച പിന്നിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. 9E, 8B, 8E എന്നീ ക്ലാസ്സുകളാണ് എനിക്ക് ലഭിച്ചത്. ഒൻപതാം ക്ലാസ്സിൽ കെമിസ്ട്രിയും എട്ടാം ക്ലാസ്സിൽ ഫിസിക്സ് ഉം ആണ് പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. മുൻ പരിചയം ഉള്ള കുട്ടികൾ ആയതിനാൽ ക്ലാസ്സിനു മുന്നിൽ നിൽക്കുമ്പോൾ ഭയം തോന്നിയിരുന്നില്ല. കൂടാതെ പരിജയപ്പെടലിന്റെയും പരിജയപ്പെടിത്തലിന്റെയും ദിവസവും വേണ്ടി വന്നില്ല. എട്ടാം ക്ലാസ്സിൽ "പ്രകാശ പ്രതിപതനം ഗോളീയദർപ്പണങ്ങളിൽ" എന്ന പാഠഭാഗമാണ് എടുത്തത്. കോൺകേവ് ദർപ്പണങ്ങളും കോൺവെക്സ് ദർപ്പണങ്ങളും അവയുടെ മുഖ്യ ഫോക്കസ്, ഫോകസ് ദൂരം, ദർപ്പണങ്ങളുടെ പ്രതിബിംബ രൂപീകരണവുമാണ് പാഠത്തിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്.  കോൺകേവും കോൺവെക്സും ദർപ്പണങ്ങൾ കുട്ടികളെ കാണിച്ചതിനാൽ ആദ്യ ക്ലാസ് ഇഫക്ടിവ് ആക്കാൻ സാധിച്ചു. ഒൻപതാം ക്ലാസ്സിൽ "ആലോഹസംയുക്തങ്ങൾ" എന്ന പാഠമാണ് എടുത്തത്. ചില അലോഹസംയുക്തങ്ങളും  അവയുടെ ഗുണങ്ങളും , വ്യാവസായിക നിർമ്മാണവുമാണ് പാഠത്തിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്.ICT ഉപയോഗിച്ചാണ് അലോഹസംയുക്തങ്ങളുടെ ആമുഖം എടുത്തത്...
